CriptoCam s.r.l. has been founded in 2008 by a group of researchers from physics, engineering and computer science to promote QKD and to provide consultancy, services and products for the Companies and/or Institutions interested in this field.
On January 2011 the society absorbed the University of Camerino spin-off QuInf s.r.l. and gained the spin-off status passing from the sole intellectual properties to practical implementations of QKD devices.
At present the society owns two patents at the PCT stage: WO2010134107 (2009-05-20) and WO2011033543 (2009-09-18). The first concerns a method for implementing the B92 protocol with uninformative states, and the second how to correct the phase drift of a communication channel without using reference pulses, interruptions of the quantum transmission, or public data exchange.
